Center for Military Education to Show Veterans How to “Get LinkedIn” to Their Career Network

LinkedInLinkedIn, the “world’s largest professional” social network, now has more than 200 million users. But how can returning veterans use the site to network, find new opportunities, and advance in their career? That’s the focus of the next installment of Excelsior College’s “You’re Back – What’s Next?” webinar series for veterans, “Get LinkedIn to Your Career Network“, scheduled for December 11, 2013 at 7 pm eastern.

The free webinar, open to general public, will cover a variety of issues surrounding LinkedIn, from how to participate and network within professional groups to developing a professional profile page that is “optimized to be found by employers looking for veterans with specific skills and experience”.

The presentation will be led by Excelsior College’s Maribeth Gunner, Director of Career Services, and Peter Del Monico, Career Services Coordinator.

Launched in summer 2012 by the Center for Military Education at Excelsior College, the “You’re Back – What’s Next” webinar series has touched on numerous veterans-related issues, from using Post 9/11 Veteran Education benefits to improving writing.
